A. PROTECT OPEN SPACES AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES

Recommendation #3

Implement the Trails Plan in the Towns 1998 Feasibility Study.

Suggested Actions:

1. Adopt the Trails Map as an official Town Map, and display it in Town Hall for use by the public and the Planning Board during the review of subdivision and site plan applications.

2. Work with developers to create segments of trails identified on the Trails Map during subdivision and site plan review of affected parcels.

3. Add incentive zoning provisions to the Zoning Law to provide public accessc for trails.

4. Establish a Kids Trails Committee to encourage development of the trails

 

 

Recommendations from the Town's Comprehensive Plan:

Provide a local network of sidewalks and paths of multi-use trails.

Recommendations from the Town's Open Space Plan:

Add incentive zoning provisions to the Zoning to channel growth and provide public access for trails.

Recommendations from Greenway Guides:

Create an interconnected system of open space corridors to offer recreational opportunities, protect environmentally sensitive areas and provide natural greenbelts.
