Focus on the needs of the town
The overall point of my comments has to do with running this town like a business. We are now a town of three segments, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents(NOP). Each is relatively equally represented in the voter population....
The cost of running this town is now huge,
compared to past history, and there is an unacceptable financial risk to all of us in running it as it has always been run by the former majority GOP. The point is, we need good local government, properly run with a forward town plan and responsible fiscal management, by officials whose only interest is the good of all of us. We need a balance on all of our committees, and our Town Board, of representatives from all the different groups that make up our town.
What we are seeing now is quick "snips"
back when anyone questions the overwhelmingly one-sided appointments of this year. The makeup of the ZBA, completely Republican, with not even the alternates representing any other constituencies, and the Dutchess County GOP chair ON THE ZBA, is scandalous.
There is an election this fall, and the voters will speak.
This "packing" of the seats will not stand.
The voters in this town spoke last year, and the GOP lost big. Those in power are not isolated cases---they run under direction of others, the quick answers(as those to this posting, and my last one) are carefully orchestrated. Jim Ross is not a lone ranger, he represents the contempt of the group he is in, for the rule of law which represents all of us.
The voters will speak, and the town WILL be properly run in the future, by elected representatives who are truly FOR the people.
